In case you want to transfer a domain name from one registrar to another, you’ll need a special domain authorization code, which may be called by multiple names – an EPP authorization code, an Auth code, a domain password, etc. All these names denote one and the same thing – a code that the domain owner gets from the present registrar and provides to the new one during the order procedure. Without a valid code, a transfer cannot be initiated and this is one of the security measures against unsolicited transfers used with all generic and with most country-code extensions. For even better safety, the code comprises of numbers and/or special symbols and is case-sensitive, so if you want to transfer one of your domains, you have to provide the new registrar company with the correct code.
EPP Transfer Protection in Cloud Hosting
If you’ve got a domain name registered through our company and you have a cloud hosting account with us, getting its EPP transfer code is amazingly easy. You will not have to log in and out of different Control Panel tools, as you can administer all your domain names via the very same Hepsia hosting Control Panel, which is used to administer your shared hosting account. You’ll see all registered domains as soon as you sign in and to the right of the domains whose extensions require an EPP code in order to be transferred, you’ll see a mini EPP icon. All it takes to obtain this code is to click on the icon. The code is always sent to the domain registrant’s email account, so in case the one that you gave initially isn’t valid any longer, you can edit it with a couple of clicks from the same section.
EPP Transfer Protection in Semi-dedicated Servers
If you have a semi-dedicated server account with us and you’ve registered a domain name that you’d like to transfer, you can obtain the EPP transfer code surprisingly easy through the Hepsia Control Panel, via which you will manage both your domain names and your account. If you go to the Registered Domains section, you will see an EPP symbol to the right of your domains, provided that their extensions support transfers between registrar companies with such a code. All codes are emailed automatically by our system to the registrant’s email to ensure that only the domain owner can see this information. In case the currently entered email is no longer valid, you can change it with several clicks of the mouse without needing to leave this section of the Control Panel. The update is instantaneous, so you’ll be able to request the EPP transfer code for the specific domain name straight away.
